Cell phones have become one of the most important necessities of life. Whether it is a businessperson, a student, a musician or a professional, cell phones add extra dimension to their lives by giving them almost total mobility in their work or otherwise.

Every cell phone starts working after we choose a plan and use it. Standard phone plans includes some minimum monthly payment for a fixed amount of air time, and additional air time can be purchased by paying more. It also requires a contract and generally a credit card.

Pay As You Go Cellular plans are completely different from these standard plans. For one thing, there are no monthly bills or contracts and we most certainly don't require a credit card. Instead, in Pay As You Go Cellular plans, a phone card needs to be bought which gives us specified talk time. A very minimal amount is required every 3 months to keep the card active.

To use a Pay As You Go Cellular plan, it literally just requires a cell phone. Pay As You Go Cellular phone cards can be bought from a large number of stores. The phone is required to be manufactured for the carrier, whose Pay As You Go Cellular plan is about to be used.

Once, the phone is bought, signing up just requires a company phone number and providing them minor details like the serial number of the phone. A cell number is then assigned to the phone. Many companies, give some initial talk time minutes for signing up, if not, then the phone needs to be recharged i.e. talk time minutes needs to be added with a Pay As You Go Cellular phone card.

The cell phone talk time minutes are deducted from the phone's balance as it is used. If the balance becomes zero, another Pay As You Go Cellular phone card must be used to add the time. And, if the phone still has balance before 3 months gets over, it just requires a minimal amount of recharge and the previous balance is carried on unlike the standard plans.

There are obvious advantages in using a Pay As You Go Cellular phone plans like no credit card required, no monthly bills. So, even though they are little more expensive than the normal phone plans, these facilities make them very popular among teenagers and people who can't afford expensive monthly bills.
